Sally Lipsky, Ph.D. | Plant-Based Nutrition Educator
Sally had a successful career as Professor of Education; however, a diagnosis of late-stage cancer greatly changed her path. As a cancer patient, Sally had little knowledge about the powerful link between food choices and cancer, but she began learning how plant foods can help prevent, fight, and even reverse various cancers. Since then she has earned a Certificate in Plant-based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, completed the Food for Life Program Training, the Farms-to-Forks Weekend Immersion, and the Culinary Rx plant-based wellness course.
Sally is author of the book Beyond Cancer: The Powerful Effect of Plant-Based Eating. She is founder of the non-profit Food for Health and leader of Plant-Based Pittsburgh, with the mission of creating communities of health based on plant-centered food choices. With an emphasis on practical application, Sally writes and presents on topics related to wellness and plant-based nutrition. Also, she is a certified yoga instructor.
Sally notes: “The effect of plant-based eating is profound. As a cancer patient I had to dig for this vital information. And I don’t want other cancer survivors to have to do the same.” This forms her commitment to help and educate others via the Annie Appleseed Project.
