Just so you know I enjoyed your article on this.
What I will say next, about myrrh being toxic, is not directed toward you, and do not take it personally. The perpose of this is to inform.
Myrrh gum powder is an amazing thing. In Chinese medicine we use it primarily in traumatology because it has definite healing ability. It is used in yunnan bai yao, a hit pill medicine used to HEAL gunshot wounds rapidly.
For those not exposed to this, the FDA gets money from drug companies to get their drugs marketed. So, no the FDA is not there to protect you. Movies are movies.
Ignorance kills.
Making hit pills (for blugeoned trauma or otherwise) usually requires 1/2 a gram of myrrh which is similar to 1/8th a teaspoon.
Any more of this is too much (Chinese Materia Medica [actual book you can buy, try www.walmart.com or www.anybook4less] advises against high doses due to toxicity) in many cases frankincese is used to mitigate the toxicity of these herbs, but by no means should you take more than that.
Ox gall (gallbladder) is also used in hitpills because of certain enzymes, which promote bloodflow and healing.
Tienchi powder sold as radix notoginseng (not to be confused with ginseng) is also a very strong healer has combined properties of simulating fibrin production (only a small part of the clotting process) and stimulating the production of new tissue.
Some of these main ingredients make up the most widely used TCM formula called yunnan bai yao.
btw today the going price for myrrh gum by pound is around $17
tienchi is $50
ox gall well... good luck finding any.
Thank You,
Grant
