Early results from a study conducted by a Malaysian government-sponsored agency and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that some chemical constituents of the "tongkat ali" plant show potent anti-cancer activity. Tongkat ali is scientifically known as Eurycoma longifolia. Malaysia has patented this plant although it grows in other Southeast Asian countries (Thailand and Indonesia).
