Here is a quick overview of yesterday's alternative breast cancer forum.

I have to say, one of the nicest things was to be in the presence of so many women who have (had?) cancer and still have all their hair and look healthy and vibrant. It was so encouraging.

Usually I feel like the odd one out. Here I felt like I fit right in.

Dr. Michael Schachter's talk:

He uses IV Vit. C given over a 1-3 hour period (forgot the amount) followed by 600 mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid to enhance the Vit. C drip.

He said that they cannot be combined.

He also does Vit K, Selenium orally but is thinking of trying to give it as a separate IV

If you can obtain laetrile, he will give it to you.

He talked about Zeolite and told us that it works like chelation without affecting the minerals and is safe at any dosage. Capsules tend to be less expensive than the liquid.

We also need: Vit D 55-60 mg

iodine - he said to administer carefully

omega 3 fatty acid

digestive enzymes

phyto nutrients

DIM

Calcium D-Gluconate

Co Q 10

Glyconeutrients - attaches to protein on cell membranes and form a pattern to give an address. In our diet we get only 2 of the necessary 8 sugars.

He suggested Mammatech or Abertose as sources.

He strongly recommended the Dr. Beljanski supplements

PAO V

Ravol V

Ginko V - very different from regular Ginko

Real Build

In tuns of screening:

Ultrasound will pick up aggressive cancer - no radiation

Mammograms pick up calcifications - lots of radiation

MRI has no ionizing radiation, he wonders about the magnetic fields

Pet Scan, you get some radiation, used in advanced cancer

Thermography is not a diagnostic tool. You are looking for heat and hormonal imbalance. Picks up imbalances years before other scans and is totally noninvasive.

He also suggests testing:

cancer markers 27-29, CEA more for colon and lung, sometimes for breast cancer

thyroid profile

red blood cell minerals - toxic and nutritional minerals

provoked urine test - 6 hour test

A, B, D, ferratin

Saliva for hormones

test urine for neuro transmitters

That is it in nutshell. There were other people giving presentations. Mostly they talked about cleaning up our environment, balancing hormones and destressing. All in all it was very interesting.

One MD talked about not taking low doses of supplements since he had a feeling that it could feed the cancer. He said that if we have a cancer diagnosis, we should only take high doses of Vit. C and other supplements.

He was not specific what he meant by low dose. At one point he mentioned anything under 1000 mg of Vit C.
