The London newspaper, The Independent on Sunday (5/22), featured a potentially explosive article that raises serious doubts about the safety of genetically engineered foods. The Independent article stated that a confidential 1,139-page report written by Monsanto indicated that rats fed genetically engineered corn had smaller kidneys and variations in the composition of their blood.
