Cancer Analysis Reveals Areas of Underfunding in UK
LONDON (Reuters) - Research into some of the biggest cancer
killers in Britain is underfunded and only a fraction of the
estimated 335 million (US $517 million) spent each year is
on prevention, according to new study findings.
The first detailed analysis of cancer research spending by the
UK government and charities shows that 41% of the money covers
studies into the causes of the disease, but only 2% is devoted
to prevention.
