Prospective Study of Diet and Ovarian Cancer

Kushi, LH et al American Journal of Epidemiology

Using information from the Iowa Women's Health Study, researchers found that significant protection was "afforded by the intake of leafy green vegetables".

They also found that sweets were associated with ovarian cancer risk as was intake of eggs and dairy. This was somewhat contradicted by the fact that dietary fat was supposedly NOT related to increased risk.

They said no association was observed between intake of energy, fat, protein, dietary fiber, Vitamn A, beta-carotene or Vitamin E.

Ann's NOTE: This is information about a large group of women and may not apply to any particular individual. The women were post-menopausal.
