The Genomic Health Reference Laboratory was registered by CLIA on January 16, 2004 to perform this assay. Assay Description: Oncotype DX quantifies the likelihood of distant recurrence in women newly diagnosed with node negative, ER positive breast cancer. Results from this test should allow clinicians and patients to make more confident decisions about adjuvant treatment. Clinical Validation: The Oncotype DX assay was clinically validated in a large, independent, multi-center study. Six hundred sixty-eight patients were enrolled from the NSABP B-14 trial, all of whom had node negative, ER positive breast cancer treated with tamoxifen. This clinical validation study was presented by the NSABP at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium in December 2003.
