Obit: Andrea Martin, Founder The Breast Cancer Fund

“Hear me in the wind See me in the season’s change Be glad in the moment”

The Philippine Breast Cancer Network

proudly salutes

Andrea Ravinett Martin Founding President of The Breast Cancer Fund in San Francisco, CA

who was given her wings to fly on the 6th day of August 2003.

Andrea was a brave and gallant breast cancer warrior who, at age 42, fought a fierce battle with the enemy for 14 years with full honor and dignity. As the Founding President of The Breast Cancer Fund, Andrea graciously attended the 1st Philippine Conference on Breast Cancer in 1998, where she first personally met Rosa Meneses. Then in 1999, Andrea and Rosa met again in San Francisco after the 2nd World Conference on Breast Cancer. The 3rd time they met was in the year 2000, when they climbed against the odds in Mt.Fuji, a month before Rosa moved on.

With much resolve, both stood their ground to the very end of their remaining days - at home. For the 4th and final time, Andrea and Rosa meet again - in the ultimate resting ground of all the angelic breast cancer gladiators!

A woman of extreme strength and purpose, Andrea showed how a woman can openly wage struggle against a most unacceptable epidemic that has today been afflicting countless numbers of women the world over. In her honor and memory, does the PBCN pledge its unwavering commitment to the global movement for the eradication of breast cancer.

Andrea will forever live in Mather, Richard, The Breast Cancer Fund and the PBCN!

Farewell Andrea !!!
