Men who get a moderate amount of exercise during radiation for prostate cancer are better able to cope with the fatigue the treatment can cause, researchers from Scotland report.
The authors looked at 66 men undergoing radiation for early stage prostate cancer. Half the men were asked to walk for 30 minutes several times a week. The other men were asked to continue their usual lifestyle, and allowed to rest if needed.
Exercise has been shown in other studies of people with cancer, to reduce fatigue and bring better overall physical health.
