11/03 There is one definitive metronomic clinical trial in the US. It is a randomized phase II trial at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the principal investigators are Dr. Eric Winer and Dr. Hal Burstein. The trial is testing the Milan/Goldhirsch protocol (Ann. Oncol. 13: 73-80, 2002 - attached) of daily oral low-dose (50 mg) cyclophosphamide and oral methotrexate every Monday and Tuesday (2 x 2.5 mg/day), combined, or not, with bevacizumab (Avastin), 10 mg/kg, every two weeks, or something similar.
