Just a note (from Liz Meyer) to mention that Klinik St. Georg has a
multi-lingual staff. Of course, German language never
hurts when visiting Germany, and some people speak
better English than others, but they are set up as an
international hospital. They have a German-speaking
hospital also.
Someone asked me off list last week what sort of
clinic this is, since in the USA a clinic is often a
large doctor's office. The international house,
Castle Prantseck & Klinik Prantseck, can house 30
patients. The German clinic, St. Georg proper, can
house 94, I believe.
So, in American terms, it's actually a small hospital.
The name "clinic" can be misleading here. Professor
Douwes realized this last year and began using the
name St. George Hospital in the English language
brochures as a result. I asked if using 2 different
names might not cause more confusion, but he wants
people to realize that it is a normal hospital, just a
very special one.
