(1998) Carol was deeply involved in a Race for the Cure but never reached the finish line. The Interview The Doctor, the reporter and she She asks her questions intelligently She is direct, she is bright She waits for them to shed some light Her face could not be calmer She wears it well, her suit of armor But underneath her steadfast look I can read her face like an open book For she is me and I am she We are sisters. by Carol Novello (New York state) Ann's NOTE: Carol Hochberg was an activist from NYC, involved with SHARE (self-help for women with breast or ovarian cancer), and National Breast Cancer Coalition. She retired as a stockbroker at the age of 40 and was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly thereafter. She loved her neices and nephews very much. She was a friend of mine. We lost her in 1998. Carol Novello lived on Long Island (New York) and was an advocate with SHARE. She gave talks to medical students to help them understand the 'patient' perspective.
