The Gradual Extinction of Modern Man
By Dr. Dana Flavin
As the former Science Assistant to the Associate Bureau Director for Toxicology from FDA, I returned from Europe after finishing my third doctoral discipline in Medicine and Biochemical Pharmacology to find every other person in the USA either ill with cancer, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, or Depression and a myriad of other illnesses that 25 years ago were rare at the rate we are seeing them now.
I have been following the gradual decrease in our environment of protective factors that kept humans healthy, and an increase in factors that are making us all ill. What I am seeing I would like to report to the American public.
First, we are seeing in general a decrease in oxygen in our environment. What was earlier 50% of the oxygen in the atmosphere has gradually declined to 30% and in some areas of heavy pollution, as low as 15%.
Second I am seeing in the water, more and more chemicals that interfere with our immune system and down regulate our thyroid activity and lower our defenses against diseases.
Third, as I searched through the scientific literature, I began to see how pesticides and herbicides in our environment were altering hormone, changing brain development in male animals that corresponds to the development of female brain.
They also influence our immune system and down regulate the thyroid hormone activity. Plastics in our daily use also contain toxic chemicals such as phthalates and some data indicate estrogen mimetic chemicals.
One of the first side effects we saw in the use of the Birth control pill back in the 70’s was an increase in Thrush, a Candida infection.
Fourth, I am noticing an increase in heavy metals which we are seeing in patients including cadmium, mercury, lead and others at a rate that is also lowering our immune systems and our detoxifying systems in our livers and in our cells in general. These systems are designed to protect us from carcinogens, toxins, etc.
Fifth, I looked at the antibiotics being given to animals, and patients at a level that is increasing not only resistant bacteria, but increasing fungal infections in our bodies.
I began to realize that these fungi were increasing lactic acid and increasing hydrogen. This hydrogen was obviously acidic. Acidity decreases the minerals in our bodies by leaching it out. The minerals are imperative to allow a normal colloidal structure of stability.
Rather like taking a raw egg yolk and adding vinegar, or salt, both of which destroy the basic structure. These areas of fungi also lower oxygen tension. Where do stem cells go to repair tissue? They go to the areas of lower oxygen tension, but where should they go when the whole body is now showing low oxygen tension?
They don’t know where to go. Some go to tumor cells, which are often surrounded by the opportunistic fungi looking for a safe acidic environment to live in. These stem cells then help the tumors to grow, instead of regenerating tissue. Other stem cells search for an area to repair but they do not make it to the normal physiological tissues that are in need, they go instead to areas where the acidity is high and the oxygen tension is low.
This is turning out to be the case all over the body.
The lactic acid from the fungi also pushes out the potassium with their hydrogen and in addition fungi release toxins. The entire meshwork of interactions in the body begins to change and the structure that was once healthy grid like structure, with all the trace minerals and high calcium and magnesium levels interacting with oxygen is now becoming acidic and these minerals are less and less. Our basic structure of our colloidal water in our bodies is changing.
Fungi don’t like trace minerals, but they are not in our food supply as they used to be. They are being leached out by acid rain and not being replaced in the soil in our mass production of food. Ergo, people are eating more.
People are more tired and more stressed, which increases cortisone and more acidity etc. etc. etc. It is a vicious cycle.
In the past, all brilliant scientists were partially correct in their theories. Scientists like Warburg who discussed oxygen in cells and the anaerobic environment in tumors. Claude Bernard, who discussed the milieu around cells determining their activity, was correct and we even see that by changing the pH and increasing acidity we then bind up more oxygen in our tissues, and alter many bacteria to produce toxins.
In addition, the acidity causes changes in enzyme activities. Hydrogen, as a normal part of water is in the form of H20, but when the Hydrogen are H3,H4,H5….. and more, the oxygen cannot get out into the cells. It is surrounded by acid which keeps it from working in our bodies. We are becoming asphyxiated.
This is turning into a major dilemma in our health.
Companies are touting the importance of antioxidants, but actually they are pro-oxygenators. These double bonded natural substances are pulling off hydrogen to allow the oxygen to get to the cells where it is needed for life. Many of these pro-oxygenators are deficient in our diets now and even those that are still there cannot compete with the acidity we are seeing. Our diets now very rich in acid producing substances like sugars and refined carbohydrates are supporting the growth further of fungi and further adding to the acidic environment in our bodies.
Is this a doomsday projection for the health of industrial nations? No!
Is there hope? The answer is YES, because, we can turn this entire situation around.
Where do we begin to turn around the entire problem? This is not a simple remedy. Would that it were, we could just let someone else do it. Unfortunately we all need to work at this. We need to replace the trace minerals in the soil, get the toxins and heavy metals out of the oceans, streams and lakes and air.
We need to decrease the chemicals in our foods, in our water and in our environment. We need more trees, more oxygen and more exercise. We need to eat more vegetables and less refined carbohydrates and this is also not an easy task in a time of fast foods and popping pills instead of proper diet.
I, for one, would like to see a healthier safer future for our children instead of more and more environmental contaminations and gradual decreases in homeostasis and health as it is becoming evident now.
I would like to see us giving our children a healthy future with a long life that is disease free. Otherwise, Man will become extinct and there will be no future for your children.
In fact, there will be no more children.
