You inherit DNA from both sides of your family Mother and Father

Some women have told me that their physicians carefully explained to them that having a family history on the father's side of the family did not increase risk.

THIS IS NOT TRUE. You inherit your DNA (gene patterns) from both sides of the family. Dad's sperm carries his DNA into Mom's egg.

So a true family history has to take into account both sides of the family tree.
