In 1980, Patrick McGrady founded CANHELP, a cancer treatment resource service that helps cancer patients root through the complex maze of medical research and therapies both within and outside the boundaries of conventional medicine.
He passed away from a blood clot formed while undergoing knee replacement surgery in December 2003.
Ann Fonfa last saw him in October, 2002 and his health was not good. He had already suffered at least one stroke. But he continued his work with people with cancer.
The business will continue with a new director, Madeleen Hereshoff.
