Karin Janine Berntsen is a health care executive and registered nurse. Her roles have included Vice President of Patient Safety and Director of Nursing. Key components of her roles in large health care systems have been to review medical errors, promote error prevention and enhance patient safety, including the use of technology and quality improvements.
Ms. Berntsen is currently the President of PreventingMedicalErrors.com. PME’s mission is to improve patient safety through the formulation of patient-professional partnerships that promote safer health care system designs.
