I am a woman living with (breast) cancer. I run an organization with a well-regarded website filled with information for people who are interested in complementary, alternative (CAM) cancer therapies.
We are very opposed to fluoride in our drinking water.
Your article states that: "County Administrator Bob Weisman, who said he and his staff would not make a recommendation either way to the commission, said it would come down to what commissioners believe. "
This is not a belief issue at all. When the facts are made clear from a scientific bases, it has been shown that fluoridation is not healthy for children and is bad for adults. People with depressed immune systems will be at higher risk of illness. Fluoride is bad for bones fractures, associated with kidney disorders and renal dysfunction, learning disabilities and IQ deficits. These last two are as a result of silicofluoride compounds containing significant levels of lead.
In fact, fluoride has actually never been shown to be safe and effective but a large body of scientific evidence has shown its deficits.
Dear Commissioners, please consider the science carefully, do not vote 'belief' such an important issue. We are willing to provide documentation from the many studies in this area.
Sincerely,
Ann E. Fonfa
